On January 16, 2004, Ec 3/5 3 was sent to Basel Kleinhünigen to pick up coal for the new steam season. Two passenger cars were added to the short freight, allowing association members and enthusiasts a steam trip to Basel and back home via Rheinfelden - Koblenz - Bülach - Winterthur - Bauma.
