Picture of the Month: April 2017

"Araf deg mae mynd ymhell - go slowly and go far," says a Welsh proverb.

If you want to explore the beauty of the Welsh scenery, you have to get off the highways and beaten paths. The winding valley of the River Dee is partially only followed by narrow roads, hiking trails and a romantic hertiage railway that steams up the valley whistling a few times a day. If the tranquility of the landscape has not already immersed the traveler, he is automatically forced into some slower pace. Or, as Thomas Mann once put it: "Travelling is the only thing against the acceleration of time."
